PLTW Presidential Speech

Hello, my name is Matthew. I have participated in Project Lead The Way since my freshman year at samo and have grown and worked with everyone in this classroom along the way. I would like to leadon a platform of togetherness and cooperation. Within samohi, we are a community and as such, we must ensure that everyone beside us can reach their maximum potential as a scholar and engineer. As president, I will prioritize excellence in our concepts, not just complete understanding. Excelling in units must be our goal, not simply meeting deadlines. As Project Lead the Way president, we can achieve this, by adjusting the calendar and pacing to meet not just our needs to get by, but our needs to succeed. Together, we can realize our highest potential and reach every goal that we strive for because when one of us succeeds, we all succeed. Also, I’ll get us a couch.

In this essay, I argued in favor of universal basic income using sources gathered by myself to create a synthesis prompt. All of this work was completed during my junior year in my AP English Language class.

In this essay, I elaborate on my passion for athletics as a young child and how my circumstances led to a soured view of sports until my junior year where I joined the volleyball team and reignited my passion for athletics.

In this essay, I argue alongside Oscar Wilde that disobedience leads to progress and is often the main driver of progress.

My magnum opus as a writer thus far. It is the most effort I have ever put into a piece of writing and I feel it shows. In 650 short words, I laid out who I am as a person and why I am the way I am.

An argumentative essay exploring my stance on A.I. after reading and comprehending "I, Robot" for English class. I took a stance on the side of A.I., mentioning its benefits.

An attempt to mirror the beautiful poem from "Bojack Horseman." Instead of depicting regret of one's actions that impact oneself, I tried to display the theme of regret in how one's actions affect others.

Applying real world logic to a scenario within the book "Project Hail Mary" which we are analyzing in English class. I argued that doctors should be the ones making decisions regarding a patients status on life support.
